What we do
Classic Car Finance arranges vehicle finance. We are a broker, not a lender. We do not hold your money, we do not make lending decisions, and we do not provide financial, legal or tax advice.
We prepare a case and present it to lenders who write finance on classic and modern classic cars. Every decision, rate and term comes from the lender.
Why we are not FCA authorised
The finance we arrange sits outside the consumer credit perimeter. Lending to a limited company or an LLP is not regulated consumer credit, because the borrower is not an individual.
Lending to a sole trader or a small partnership is exempt where the agreement is for more than £25,000 and the borrowing is wholly or predominantly for business purposes.
Lending to an individual is exempt under the high net worth exemption where the credit exceeds £60,260 and the borrower has signed a statement of high net worth, certified as required, together with the declaration that they forgo the protections of a regulated agreement.
Because we arrange only these agreements, Lenzie Consulting Ltd does not hold Financial Conduct Authority authorisation. We are not entered on the Financial Services Register for credit broking.
What that means for you
An unregulated agreement does not carry the statutory protections of a regulated one. There is no section 75 protection, no statutory right of withdrawal, no voluntary termination right, and no access to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
You should take your own legal and accounting advice before entering into any agreement.
If your finance would be regulated
If you are buying a car for personal use, or borrowing below the thresholds above as an individual, the agreement is regulated consumer credit, which requires FCA authorisation that we do not hold.
We still take the enquiry. Where a case needs an authorised firm, it is handled through one of our regulated partners, and we tell you which firm before anyone contacts you.
You are free to approach any authorised firm yourself instead. You can check a firm's permissions on the Financial Services Register at register.fca.org.uk.
Information on this site
Rates, terms, loan to value figures and worked examples on this site are illustrative. They are not an offer of finance and they do not form part of any agreement.
Market values, asking prices and auction results are gathered from public sources and are shown as aggregates. They are a guide to what cars have been advertised or sold for, not a valuation of any particular car.
We take care over the information we publish, but we do not warrant that it is complete or current.
Enquiries
When you send an enquiry we use your details to respond to it and, where we can help, to prepare and present a case to lenders on your behalf.
Submitting an enquiry does not create an agreement, does not guarantee that finance is available, and does not oblige us to act for you.
Commission
Where a lender pays us a commission for arranging finance, we will tell you before you commit to an agreement.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information published on this site.
Intellectual property and marques
The content of this site belongs to us unless stated otherwise.
Manufacturer and marque names are the trade marks of their owners. We use them to describe the vehicles we arrange finance on. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agent of any manufacturer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
