What we collect
From the entry form and any enquiry: your name, email address, telephone number if you give one, the type of borrower you are, the amount you want to borrow, and what you tell us about the car and the purpose of the finance.
From your visit: the pages you view, the site or search that sent you, and standard technical information such as your device type. We do not use this to identify you personally.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry. Our lawful basis is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Where we can arrange your finance, to prepare a case and present it to lenders on your behalf, which is the same basis.
To keep records of the enquiries we receive and how we handled them, which is our legitimate interest in running and evidencing our business properly.
Enquiries handled by a regulated partner
Some enquiries concern finance that requires FCA authorisation, which we do not hold. We do not turn those away: they are handled through one of our regulated partner firms.
Where that applies, we share the details you gave us with that firm so it can deal with your enquiry, and we tell you which firm it is. Our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
You can tell us at any time that you would rather we did not, and we will stop. You can also approach an authorised firm directly instead of going through us.
Where an enquiry does not proceed, we delete the details within [RETENTION PERIOD].
Who we share it with
Lenders and, where a case requires it, valuers and inspectors, when we are arranging finance for you.
One of our regulated partner firms, where your enquiry concerns finance that requires FCA authorisation, as described above.
Our email and hosting providers, who process data on our instructions.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not proceed: [RETENTION PERIOD].
Cases we arrange: for the life of the agreement and [RETENTION PERIOD] afterwards, so that we can answer questions about what we did and meet our own legal obligations.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and ask us to restrict processing.
